Camden Devil’s Backbone/Wagers Memorial Park  https://preblecountyparks.org/wagers-park-1 

Devil’s Backbone/Wagers Memorial Park is a 24-acre park just outside Camden.  The Wagers Family donated the land to the Preble County Park District who developed several hiking trails and are planning additional upgrades and enhancements to the park to be a wildlife sanctuary with native plants and animals. The park is scenic with limestone formations, fossils, a beautiful creek and waterfalls.

Eaton County Club

Eaton Country Club’s challenging par 36 course was designed by Alex Campbell and features watered fairways, tees and greens, sand hazards, a driving range and a lovely view all in walking distance of downtown Eaton and the historic Roberts Bridge.

Fort St Clair

Fort St. Clair was a fort built during the Northwest Indian War. Now operated by the City of Eaton, the 77 acre site features playground area, picnic tables, a cabin, an outdoor fireplace with grill, large wooded areas, a gazebo, hiking paths and more. The Fort also now houses Miss Preble, a WWII Sherman tank.

Garber Nature Center

The Allen and Adaline Garber Nature Center is Preble County’s first county park. The Preble County Park District developed and maintains the Nature Center and the Garber Forest at the rear of the property provides 33 acres for hiking, nature observation and education. A mile-long loop trail and some shorter trails traverse the forest. A handicapped accessible boardwalk travels 400 feet from the rear parking lot to a viewing platform/picnic table at the Old Oak Tree. Near the rear parking lot is the Sandpiper Wetland which was created October 2008. Ducks, herons, frogs, deer, raccoons, dragon flies, other insects, and even cattails have found the wetland. The Nature Center also features a Picnic Pavilion with handicapped accessible picnic tables and the restored Garber farm house where the Park District maintains its office.

G & J Kartway

Located among the cornfields and pastures of Southwestern Ohio lies a WKA Master Track known as G & J Kartway. In addition to hosting many races, G & J Kartway is open for practice throughout the year, weather permitting. If you’re in Southwest Ohio and looking for a great track, make your way to Camden and look for the silos…there is a true gem of a track waiting for you.

Hueston Woods State Park

Hueston Woods Golf Course

The golf course at Hueston Woods is an 18-hole championship course.  It has been laid upon a generous 260 acres of land and has over 30 sand traps as well as unique water holes.  Bent grass tees and greens accompanied by Kentucky bluegrass and rye blended fairways create ideal playing surfaces.

Preble Co. Historical Society
